CONTINUING
EDUCATION, WHAT IS IT?
UWA,
through the Division of Continuing Education, will be dedicated to meeting
the continuing education needs of the West Alabama/East Mississippi
region. The Continuing Education Program will include, at first, on-campus
Continuing Education Programs, concentrating on personal and professional
development classes, with classes meeting on the main campus and,
possibly, in the future, at other locations in UWA’s service area. It is
projected that, in the future, the Continuing Education Program will
expand to include certificate programs, in-depth personal and professional
development courses, and an Elder Hostel program.
Regular academic admission to the University will not be required.
There will be no grades and no pressure to perform in class.
WHO
WILL TEACH THE COURSES?
Instructors
in the UWA Continuing Education Program will include individuals from all
walks of life—UWA professors, businessmen, professional people, etc.
All will be knowledgeable in their field.
WHAT
TYPE OF COURSES WILL BE OFFERED?
Continuing
Education courses could include everything from woodworking to Chinese
cooking. Possible CEU or
Certificate courses in Banking, Real Estate, Nursing, and Education are
projected for the future, as well as personal development courses in
computers, tax courses, and investments.
The possibilities are endless. Please consult the current UWA
Continuing Education Calendar for current and future classes, workshops
and events.
